Our Message

Our Message

The Maranatha Christian Church emerged within the evangelical community as a result of a foreseen event for our days as it is written in the book of the prophet Joel 2:28 which says, " And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. "

Founder and Foundation

The founder and the foundation are identified by the Lord Jesus Christ. There is therefore no emphasize on another name or names since their existence is part of the prophetic plan of God for our day.

However, the Maranatha Christian Church Presbytery in Espirito Santo (region in Brazil), was born in January 1968 as a religious institution, in the district of Toca , in Vila Velha , State of Espirito Santo, Brazil with the objective to worship God and preach the gospel as written in the the Old and New Testament Scriptures as the only rule of faith and practice , as well as educate the spiritual and social formation of man , the Christian education and promote charitable work and moral assistance and educational, without any national or foreign profit.

Our Belief

We believe in all the doctrines taught in the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament ,especially in all those in which the faithful Church throughout the centuries always believed in, Particularly, those relating to the Trinity, the plan of salvation by grace through faith in the person and in the consumed work of the Lord Jesus on the cross of Calvary. We also believe in Pentecostal teachings of the baptism with the Holy Spirit , the spiritual gifts and the direction of the Lord Jesus over His Church. We believe that the Church must be attentive to the biblical doctrines in order to live in sanctification and in obedience to the will of God. We believe that the practice of the teachings of the Holy Scriptures , in particular those relating to the importance of using the resources of grace are sufficient for any church to be awakened from the state of spiritual sleep.

Origin of the word: Maranatha

To us, Maranatha is not only a word, but a spiritual heritage. The Maranatha word identifies the call, a call of the Holy Spirit , for a moment, a special time in history and in the life of the church that is the RAPTURE!

We emerged from evangelical circles as an option , to define this historical and profetic moment. Maranata is the word used by Paul to talk about the great message of the Church , which is "The king is coming," that is , " Jesus will return ." In January 1980 , by a revelation from the Lord Jesus, this work came to be called Maranatha Christian Church , showing that the work would be known throughout the world by the message that would be preaching: "Maranatha , the Lord Jesus will come."

A Volunteer Ministry

This relates to a Pentecostal church , with its headquarters located in Vila Velha and that brings together these days (December 2012) about 900,000 members, five thousand churches and temples. The Holy Spirit is the one who leads all things, where there is no projection of people, they are volunteers and are not paid.

The Doctrine of the Body

Jesus Christ is the head (Eph: 5: 23) and the church his body. This doctrine of one government and one doctrine, has been a reality among us, not only as a belief, but lived with remarkable experiences in our day-to-day lives. One of the Lord's reasons to baptize his servants with the Holy Spirit- youth, adults, elders- was to allow the Lord Jesus to rule His Church. According to the prophet Joel, as a consequence of this baptism, His servants would receive visions, dreams and prophecies (Joel 2:28), and all those gifts that allow the Lord to reveal His will to his servants.

During the time of the apostles, it is observed that the gifts were used especially to reveal the will of God for His Work. We have examples of this in the spiritual gifts through which the Lord revealed to Cornelius that he should call Peter to his home (Acts 10: 3-6.), Directed Philip to preach to the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:26, 29.), Directed Ananias to visit Paul and pray for him (Acts 9: 10-16.), revealed to Peter not to hesitate, but to preach the gospel to the Gentiles in the house of this centurion (At.10: 9-16 and 19-20), revealed Paul that he should not preach the gospel in Asia nor in Bithynia, but in Macedonia (Acts 16: 6-10), revealed to the Church in the Old Testament which laws should be observed by the Gentiles who converted (Acts 15: 28,29) Paul was told to go up to Jerusalem to submit their teaching to the apostles (Gal. 2: 1-2), the Lord revealed that he had chosen Timothy for the ministry of the Word (II Tim 4:14), etc. The church of our days have similar experiences, the Church has understood that the Lord Jesus should become in practice - not just in theory - the Head of the Church. Through His written Word we have the doctrine and the necessary guidelines for the edification of the Church.

Our Message

Our first objective is to make aware the Work that the Holy Spirit is required to undertake this last hour, revealing that the Lord Jesus is alive, manifesting the real presence of Christ in the midst of the Church and preparing the Bride for the rapture. We live in the prophetic moment that closely precedes the return of the Lord Jesus in glory to rapture His church. We do not know the day nor the hour, but we have an obligation to discern the signs of the times. The Lord Jesus left and spoke so many signs in his Prophetic Sermon and in the book of Revelation so that we could understand the prophetic moment in which we live. We undertand that as the Bride of Jesus, the Church is aware of the time of the Lord's return, with lamps filled with oil , that is, filled with the Holy Spirit, because in addition to having solid baptized with the Spirit, the faithful servants of the Lord are filled continuously with the Spirit (Eph. 5: 18-21) .In this prophetic moment, the church should be preaching the Gospel of Jesus with power and the Word must be accompanied by signs that confirm it. Hence the need for the Church to be seeking the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1: 8.) And spiritual gifts. The manifestations of spiritual gifts are used by the Lord to demonstrate to the world that Jesus is alive! In addition to proclaiming to the Lord Jesus is alive, the Church has a great responsibility to announce that he will soon return! Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
